Wed in Wisconsin: Laurelyn Savannah Photography
There once was a time when people talked about engagement season, but I swear that now I see an engagement post every time I am on social media. So in honor of the perpetual engagement season, I thought I would share a little about my favorite wedding vendors from our wedding.
As you all well know by now, neither Tyler nor I are from Wisconsin. When we first got engaged, we were looking for venues in the Bay Area of California, where I grew up and my family still lives. After facing the slightly elevated prices and thinking about the fact that our entire relationship had taken place in Wisconsin, we decided to ask (read: force) our families to join us in Wisconsin for the big day.
All that to say, we assembled a team of excellent Wisconsin and Midwest vendors that I’d love to tell you a little bit about. To start us off, it’s only natural to feature the vendor behind all of the pretty images you’ll see in this series, Laurelyn Savannah Photography. I would really love to feature her in the Milwaukee Makers series, but here’s an initial introduction via some of her beautiful final product.
Laurelyn was one of the easiest and remained one of the best choices we made when it came to wedding vendors. I was not a thorough, detail-oriented bride - I hadn’t been dreaming about what I wanted for years, and I was working a pretty demanding job while planning - so I knew I needed vendors that would take care of business and make me feel comfortable with their capability. In a photographer, I needed someone who could roll with our big families and an even bigger wedding party, as you can see. When we initially met with Laurelyn, we instantly clicked, and I felt very comfortable with her. She cared about our story as a couple, and she listened to my concerns as a bride as well as what was important to me.
One of those things that was important to me was the ability of my wedding photographer to capture good candids of the people we love who traveled for the day. Laurelyn did not disappoint. I booked a second shooter (which I highly recommend) and they tag-teamed family formals with our large families and cocktail hour where some of the best candids were taken. I cannot stress enough that I never doubted Laurelyn, her product, or that she had it all under control. In fact, I did not even know until after my wedding that she, my mom and my sister teamed up to keep me from finding out that the rings had been left behind when we went to the venue, in an unlocked car at that. Laurelyn was an absolute professional.
So, if you are looking for an incredible wedding photographer in Wisconsin, Laurelyn is based out of Milwaukee, and I cannot recommend her enough. And of course, if you want to see more shots from my wedding to see if you like her style, stick around here for my other vendor reviews or feel free to message me as well. I hope this series is helpful to all you blushing brides or early wedding planners out there!
